Paolo Espanola is  a former accountant and an ordinary lover of food. Unable to accept 16-hour workdays staring at Excel spreadsheets, he started a food blog as an act of rebellion amid his elders’ concern that he “might get deported” for not throwing his all into his day job. Paolo now works at a social media tech startup during the day; at night, he produces a podcast, dreams up menus, and plans pop-up dinners. He believes—naively, according to people wiser than he—that food can be used to solve most of the world’s problems and one day hopes he can use food to help others believe in their potential, connect with their roots, and realize we can all be breaking bread as one race in this strange world of ours.
