Although Allan Pineda officially earned his culinary arts diploma in 2005, he’s been in the culinary industry for more than 22 years. Alongside his wife, Amanda, Allan is the cofounder of Manila Nights, a Filipino-inspired pop-up dinner series in Winnipeg, Canada. He and Amanda were finalists for Western Living’s 2017 Foodies of the Year award. The dynamic duo has traveled to various cities worldwide, including San Francisco, London ,and Sydney to share their dishes. One may call Allan an ambassador of Filipino food, for his drive toward spreading the cuisine and all its glory. After attending Savor Filipino, a food event in California, he became the social media coordinator of the Filipino Food Movement–Canada. He is the founder of Kitchen Kumite, a large-scale Iron Chef–style tournament, the proceeds of which go to cancer care organizations.
