Alexa Alfaro is an Alaskan-born Milwaukeean. In fifth grade, Alexa took a 10-week trip to the Philippines, which opened her eyes and inspired her to open Meat on the Street, Milwaukee’s first Filipino food truck, with her brother Matthew in 2014. After three food truck seasons of slinging BBQ sticks and pork adobo, the duo opened Meat on the Street’s brick-and-mortar operation at Eleven25, an old Pabst Brewery building in Milwaukee.

The eldest of three, Alexa grew up in the kitchen with her father. While cooking has always been her brother’s strength, Alexa can roll lumpias and skewer BBQs to her father’s expectations. Currently, she half-jokingly states, “I skewer meat for a living.”
